Is it a good idea to write letters to District Justice or Judges before a hearing date?

Lidia’s answer: The judge cannot review paper work from one side (ex-parte communication). The judge can only view evidence presented in open court with both sides present. Moreover, preliminary hearing is mostly the procedure for the Commonwealth to present THEIR case and open it for cross examination, not for the Defendant to defendant to defend his. Plus, it is never a good idea for the defendant to speak without an advice of an attorney
