We are considering giving our home to our son. He is single but planning to marry in May 2014.

Lidia’s answer: The initial value of the house at the time of the marriage will not be considered marital estate subject to equitable distribution. The increase in value of the real estate, however, absent a Prenuptial Agreement to the contrary, will be considered a marital estate and will be subject to distribution
